A small proportioned and very original George II period oak `Credence` table c.1740. Half round form with single plank hinged top opening to reveal a storage compartment below, matching half round drop leaf to the rear. Turned column legs and matching gate action legs to the rear to enable the table to be opened to form a circular table. Deep apron below with two panels and original lock escutcheon. Bent wood base stretcher and small hoof design feet to the base. Presented in excellent original condition with a deep shine. Measures 31.5" wide x 26.75" high x 31.5" diameter open.
