A George I period figured walnut chest on chest with herringbone crossbanding and superb colour and original patina c.1730. Superbly proportioned with broad moulded cornice to the top, three small drawers sat over three long drawers below; each oak lined with book matched figured walnut veneers, herringbone crossbanding and moulded edges. Moulded waist above the base section with pull out brushing slide forming a surface. Three deep oak lined drawers below with veneers and herringbone banding to match the top. All drawers with decorative brass handles and matching... lock escutcheons. Moulded base rail with original bracket feet below and figured book matched veneers to the sides. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and original patina. Measures 42" wide x 21" deep at the cornice (widest point) x 69" high. Stock number 42884.
