A fine quality Persian pure wool Saroq hand kotted rug in newly cleaned unworn condition c.1920. Hand knotted with close thread count, the design includes a triple diamond shaped medallion increasing in size from the centre of the rug and an interlocking floral design predominantly in soft red, blue, greens and champagne cream giving a smoky tone overall. Infills to the corners in tones of cream plus a broad border to the rug edge with a predominantly soft red background.
