Description

A fine quality large early Victorian coromandel brass trimmed tea caddy with outstanding fitted interior c.1860. The dome top casket shaped box with choice cut coromandel veneers and engraved decorative brass bindings; carry handle to the top. The lid lifting to reveal a superb original fitted interior with two removable dome top caddies set to each side, one for black and the other for green tea. A video of this tea casket can be viewed on our YouTube channel - click here. Each caddy with spring release catch for the lid and original foil lined interior, matching coromandel veneers to the exterior. Original removable cut crystal blending bowl to the centre and red velvet lined interior to the lid. The engraved Bramah lock plate bearing the makers name Sampson Mordan, London; in working order with two keys. Presented in superb original complete condition with a rich colour and original polish. Measures 13" wide x 6.5" deep x 7.5" high. Stock number 39598.
