A Fine quality George III period antique figured mahogany 8 day brass and silvered dial London longcase clock.c.1760.Slim figured timber case, reeded pillars to the trunk with brass capitals and stringing. Matching columns to the hood with fretted pediment to the top and view windows to the sides. Sat on the original stepped foot. Fine quality brass and engraved silvered dial with subsidiary seconds, date and strike/silent facility dials. Bears the makers name William Scott, London. Cast gilt brass spandrels to the corners and the arch, original fretted blued steel hands. The original 8 day mo...vement with five pillars and anchor escapement, strikes on a bell on the hour. Superb colour and original patina, fully overhauled movement. Measures 91" high x 19.5" wide x 9.5" deep. Stock number 34262.
