Fine Early Victorian Figured Mahogany London Stick Barometer

A fine early Victorian figured mahogany London stick barometer c.1840. Made by John Newman* of Regent Street, London (w.1816-62). Original inverted bone scales with vernier marker to the top of the mercury tube. Mercury action thermometer to the side. Maker's name to the top. Bevelled edge glass front. Stepped pediment to the top. Fine figured mahogany veneers and ebony stringing to the slim case. Turned cistern cover to the base. Full working order.
