Ringed winders and gilt spandrels to the corners. Made by Josiah Thompson of Whitehaven*(w.1740-68). Strikes on a bell to the hour. Superior case with herringbone inlay and cross banding throughout. Book matched veneers to the quarter column case. Superb colour and patina. Full working order.
