A Fine George II period country oak cottage longcase clock.c.1750. Brass and silvered dial with engraved decoration and spandrels to the corners. Single pointer to the 30 hour movement. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Made by Thomas Hodson of Chorley. Fine polished oak case with cross banding to the edges. Shaped top to the case door flanked by quarter turned column. Fruitwood inlay throughout. Turned pillars to the moulded cornice hood. Lacquered panel to the top. Superb proportions, colour and patina. Stands 78"high. Fully overhauled movement.
